Welcome to mksm

Milton Keynes South Midlands (mksm) is the largest and most successful growth area in the UK. It is made up of parts of three of the UK's best performing regions (the South East, the East and the East Midlands).
With a population of over 1.6 million people, and plans to grow by over 224,000 new homes and 192,000 new jobs, mksm is in a prime position to deliver housing and economic growth which will bring major benefits to the UK economy.
The area has demonstrated over the last 30 years its ability to attract private sector investment, and it has the capacity to attract a great deal more, from UK and international sources.
Growth area status is helping the area realise its potential and meet the key infrastructure challenges for economic and housing growth.
mksm comprises six local growth policy areas which are identified in the mksm Sub-Regional Strategy and in the relevant three Regional Spatial Strategies.
These areas are:
- Aylesbury Vale
- Bedford & Mid Bedfordshire
- Luton & South Bedfordshire
- Milton Keynes
- North Northamptonshire
- West Northamptonshire
Each area in mksm has a key part to play in delivering sustainable growth for the area. Together, they represent the largest and most successful growth area in the UK.
