Aylesbury Vale

The Aylesbury Vale growth area follows the district boundary of Buckinghamshire’s Aylesbury Vale, bordering Milton Keynes. 26,890 homes and 21,500 jobs are planned for this area up to 2026.

Aylesbury is a county town which is growing and modernising whilst respecting its civic heart. Significant investment in a public transport hub has made getting in and out of the town easy. The bus station has recently undergone refurbishment, a new bridge connecting the town and one of the major residential areas opened and the Waterside redevelopment scheme is delivering a brand new theatre, 265,000 sq ft of new retail, together with new housing and employment opportunities, particularly on the planned urban extension areas

Stoke Mandeville stadium and hospital are recognised assets, as are wealth of attractive villages and surrounding countryside, including parts of the Chilterns.

Aylesbury already has good connectivity – not only with Milton Keynes and London, but also good road links to Oxford and Heathrow. A new rail station parkway, linking the new Berryfields major development areas to the Aylesbury - Marylebone line opened in late 2008. These connections, alongside its high skills levels set Aylesbury in good stead to plan for a growing knowledge economy.
