Transport

mksm has excellent transport connectivity, close to London and acting as gateway to the Midlands and the north, as well as good international links, including London Luton and direct train links into London St Pancras.

Much of its transport infrastructure is already very good or undergoing / planned to undergo major improvements which, once achieved, will enable the delivery of much of the planned growth.

It is this infrastructure and the strategic location of mksm which enables it to be the largest Growth Area in the country. 

Our mksm Strategic Transport Board brings together key transport bodies for integrated transport planning, strengthen sub-regional capacity and risk management.

In 2009 the mksm partnership completed its Inter Urban Transport Strategy which sets out the key transport infrastructure priorities to support Growth at a sub-regional level. The spatial and thematic priorities from this are now being taken forward.
