Regional Strategy Group

The Regional Strategy Group is an Inter-Regional Group of officials to align regional approaches in consultation with local authorities and in support of the LA Leadership Group and Inter Regional Board, and to allow these tri-regional messages to be relayed to other groups via the mksm executive team

Role:

• To steer work to support common approaches regarding regional planning and infrastructure strategies (both spatial planning and economic development);
• To help steer cross-regional work to progress an mksm Collaborative Working Agreement, for referral to LA Leadership Group and IRB
• To help steer the work of the Economic Development Group;
• To review and approve a combined mksm Economic Strategy and Implementation Plan for referral to the LA Leadership Group, Executive Board and IRB;
• To inform the work of the Strategic Transport Board;
• To oversee potential co-ordinated review of the mksm Sub Regional Strategy.

Since October 2009, Regional Strategy Group meetings have been postponed. They are expected to resume in summer 2010.
